Our history

The story of the Nouvel Hôtel Eiffel, a charming hotel in Paris Rive Gauche

A family-run hotel in Paris for nearly a century

On the quiet Rue des Volontaires, just steps from Montparnasse and the Eiffel Tower, the Nouvel Hôtel Eiffel is much more than a simple 3-star hotel in Paris: it is a place of family heritage and history. Behind its discreet façade lies an authentic Parisian story, upheld by the same family for nearly 100 years.

A hotel rooted in Parisian tradition

Before becoming a charming hotel in Paris, our building housed, in the 1930s, a typical Parisian "hôtel garni," offering simple rooms to traveling workers or modest travelers. In 1930, Mr. Alexandre Madaule and his wife Eugénie acquired this lively place. Since then, four generations of the same family have succeeded one another to continue this tradition of hospitality in the capital.

A Parisian hotel, passed down from generation to generation

From a modest address to a renovated hotel in Paris, the Nouvel Hôtel Eiffel has managed to evolve without ever losing its soul. Every renovation and improvement has been made with respect for its history. Even today, this family passion is felt in every detail: a warm atmosphere, attentive hospitality, and a constant commitment to offering the best to our guests, whether they are visiting Paris for leisure, business, or a romantic getaway.

An inspiring neighborhood, reflecting the Parisian art of living

Located in Paris’s 15th arrondissement, between Montparnasse and the Invalides, our hotel near the Eiffel Tower enjoys a location rich in history. Rue des Volontaires, where we welcome you, has existed since 1804. It was a haven for artists in the 1920s-1930s, reflecting the Montparnasse of the time: a creative, lively, and vibrant Paris.

A Paris hotel renovated with elegance

Completely redesigned in 2017 by interior architect Laurent Maugoust, the Nouvel Hôtel Eiffel received a full makeover while preserving its soul as an independent, family-run hotel. In 2025, the rooms and common areas were refreshed to continue welcoming travelers in a well-cared-for setting that is both warm and contemporary.

A commitment to a more sustainable hotel

True to the spirit of heritage and adaptability that has guided its management since 1930, the Nouvel Hôtel Eiffel Paris actively engages in environmental sustainability. We have implemented concrete actions for responsible tourism: replacing disposable cups with reusable mugs and cups, substituting individual toiletries with refillable dispensers, and using eco-labeled cleaning products. Our ambition? To soon obtain the Green Key certification, an international benchmark for hotels committed to responsible resource management.

Towards greater accessibility for all

Aware of the importance of inclusive hospitality, we also plan to create a room accessible to guests with reduced mobility. To achieve this, we have recently acquired the adjacent space next to the hotel. This new ground-floor area will allow us, within about a year, to offer a comfortable and fully adapted room, in compliance with accessibility standards.
